Download Jira From Atlassian Website

Navigate to the folder containing the tar.gz file and unzip

tar -xf atlassian-jira-software-8.4.1.tar.gz -C /home/pi/Public/Jira/

Wait until all files are extracted may take 10min

Check if java sdk is installed

sudo apt-get install oracle-java8-jdk

*if JAVA_HOME is not set use set environment variable in ~/.bashrc file and add the directory of java runtime folder. (Check the folder name is correct on the version of Raspbian being used)

sudo nano ~/.bashrc

in the file add the lines:
export JAVA_HOME=”/usr/lib/jvm/jdk-8-oracle-arm32-vfp-hflt”
export PATH=$PATH:$JAVA_HOME/bin

Save the file and reboot. After login try the echo $JAVA_HOME to verify changes.

Setup the Jira-Home settings by running the config.sh script. The Current Jira Home will be blank. Enter a new Directory for Jira that is not the same as the installation directory.

Start Jira using the startup Script in the [extracted/path]/jira/atlassian-jira-software-8.4.1-standalone

sudo bash start-jira.sh
